Customs Legislation Amendment (False Trade Marks Infringement Notices) Bill 2026
Amends:
Commerce (Trade Descriptions) Act 1905
- create a strict liability offence for the importation of goods that bear false trade marks
Customs Regulation 2015
- prescribe this offence in the Customs Infringement Notice Scheme, enabling Australian Border Force officers to issue infringement notices as an alternative to prosecution
