Telecommunications and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2025
Amends:
Surveillance Devices Act 2004 and Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979
- enable the disclosure and use of protected network activity warrant information and network activity warrant intercept information in certain circumstances
Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979
- transfer the statutory function of the Communications Access Coordinator
- permit limited access to stored communications to enable agencies to undertake development and testing activities
- make a technical correction
Crimes Act 1914
- clarify the threshold for authorising and varying controlled operations
